Allometric model for estimating leaf area of ora-pro-nobis genotypes

ABSTRACT The planting of unconventional vegetables has increased in Brazil. This is mainly due to the demand nutritionally rich foods grown sustainable crops. In this scenario, ora-pro-nobis stands out, as, although being part meal large Brazilian population, it been cultivated despite lack scientific knowledge. Thus, study aimed adjust a leaf area estimation model for ora-pro-nobis, using measurements leaves. For adjustment and validation, 4000 leaves were collected four different genotypes, 1000 each them. regression models adjusted 2000 independent random observations, 500 per genotype. observed was studied as linear function dimensions blade: length (L), width (W) product (LW). remaining also separate genotype, used only statistical validation study. allometric based on (LW) proved be precise accurate estimating applicable any genotypes analyzed regardless size: L A ^ W = 0.9294 + 0.6815 x W.
